What We Provide

Socialization Program:

All clients working within our program are required to volunteer for at least one evening of pup socialization.  We also accept volunteers for this program.  Pups in socialization phase are 5-7weeks.  Please read "Critical Periods in the Life of the Puppy" before working in our socialization program.

Annual Reunions:

This is an event we look forward to with great enthusiasm each year.  All of our clients and their pets are invited to Lake Chatfield State Park in October for a fun filled 1/2 day reunion.  We have speakers on training and health issues unique to the G.S. Breed.

Our circle time is when we all can show off our companion and what they've accomplished in training.  Door prizes are given out and plenty of refreshments for pets and their humans are available.

Its a great time to reunite with litter mates and other GSD enthusiasts - best of all, we get to see our babies again!!!!!!

Check our site in the early fall for Reunion Information and details.

Personality Matching:

During the course of interaction with our prospective clients, we have gathered much information on them and about their family, lifestyle, purpose for their puppy and the type of dog personality they feel would compliment their family.  Clients have the opportunity while attending orientation class to see pups at 6 weeks of age and fill out a "3 pup preference" form.  We strive to match them with one of their three choices pending that the personality tests are compatible.

Ongoing Open Door Policy:

Does this sound familiar?  You call the number, get to their home, pick your pup, hand them cash & say goodbye.  Its sad to say but many people have accepted this scenario as the norm for adopting a new companion into their lives.

At WCGS we believe that we are partners in the process, placement and ongoing support for our pup's new humans.

Here are a few of the ways we let you know the "door is always open."

We are always available for questions / help by phone or e-mail.
We offer bi annual newsletters
Yearly reunions
Web Page educational writings
Contacts if any health concerns arise

Training Rebates:

At WCGS we believe that a happy canine is one who has been trained well by their human.  To encourage this training process in our dogs we offer a no strings attached $50.00 rebate.

It is simple.  You choose where it will be applied - either, 8 weeks of obedience. class, or 8 weeks of adv. obedience / protection.  Class must be taken with a certified. or licensed trainer and class must produce a completion certificate.  Send me a copy of your certificate & I will send you a check for $50.00.

Training your GSD is a great way to ensure this very intelligent canine friend will meet their full potential & the bond you share will only be strengthened.

I or my clients have worked with these trainers and found their services to be good.  Please feel free to call them and ask  questions on training styles etc.  Then decide which service will work best for you.

Kennel Care / Maintenance

Our Whelping Facility was designed and constructed with the main purposes of comfort, cleanliness and peace of mind for out birthing bitches.  The whelping rooms are spacious, easy to clean and safe for mom and babies.

The floors are heat controlled and individual wall heating units allow the temperature to stay  cozy at all times.

Viewing windows allow us to monitor pup progress without interrupting moms role too often.
Each room has let outs that allow mom to relieve herself and stretch whenever she feels the  need to do so.  Each let out feeds into a large pup play yards that allows pups to play, explore and exercise as they get older.

The play yards are designed to challenge the pups intelligence and confidence as they explore various surfaces, steps, tunnels and other mediums.  These areas are kept clean and inviting.
