Geschenk Von Gott German Shepherds - Placement Profile

Thank you for your inquiry about one of our German Shepherd pups for companion or working interests.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our pup and placement program here at G.V.G.G.S.

Here at Geschenk Von Gott German Shepherds, we take seriously and joyfully the responsibility in our breeding and placement program to ensure that each and every puppy has been individually and lovingly brought to its highest potential we incorporate age and activity appropriate socialization,  then we go a step further in utilizing professional testers to assess each puppy so that we are able to aid in the perfect match of pup and owner compatibility.

Most of our clients enter into our program before the particular litter of interest is born.  We welcome involvement from our clients throughout all of our program process and after careful instruction of positive and appropriate pup interaction, our clients are given the opportunity to interact with the litter as part of our overall  socialization program.

Because there is so much interesting and exciting information to convey to the new pup owner, after completing an application, our clients are required to attend an orientation class at G.V.G.G.S. when the pups are six weeks old.  We cover everything from the vital importance of humane crate training to proper and age appropriate nutrition.  It is not uncommon for our class to entail guest speakers and demonstrations of mature dogs previously placed in our program.  At this time our clients are given ample opportunity to spend time with the puppies and their parents and are given the opportunity to note pup preferences.  At this time, a complete physical exam, vaccinations and fecal test are given.

On the 49th day, which is the best time to test pup personality, we incorporate the services of professional testers that take each pup through eight different tests that rate overall trainability, play drives, prey drives, noise tolerance, sociability, excitability vs. easiness, dominance vs. submissiveness, hardness vs. softness and overall general personality of pup in reference to human acceptance.

We place our puppies in their new homes shortly after our personality tests are completed as this is the optimum developmental stage for deep bonding with humans to occur.  All pups placed go home with hip and health guarantees that are explained thoroughly at our orientation classes.

After the pups are placed we incorporate the "open door" policy with our clients and welcome any questions that they may have concerning their new family member.  Our clients are sent bi-annual newsletters and invited to our yearly pup reunions at Lake Chatfield State Park, in Littleton Colorado.

Do we love our puppies... YES!!! Are we thrilled to be part of matching them with conscientious and loving homes... YES!  Do we believe we have the only pup for you... NO!  Whether we or another breeder provide you with a puppy from another kennel, we encourage you to get the right pup for you.  Ask the breeder about his or her socialization program and personality testing, be sure there is nothing you do not like in the parents personality, and by all means check for in-depth information on the genetic history of the pup and ask for as many references as possible from previous clients.  Clean pups and kennels are also important.  As much as you would like to believe that you can take any puppy from any situation and turn him into the perfect companion by just giving them lots of love, you are mistaken.  The puppy who has had mediocre care and poor socialization during the first seven weeks of its life will forever carry those scars in how they will relate to people, different situations they may encounter and other animals within and outside of their home.

Welcoming a new canine companion into your life is no small decision, to make so by all means, do your homework, be an informed and conscientious selector and use your head first, not just your heart when approaching your choice of breeder and puppy.

In you are interested in adopting one of our puppies, please let us know by filling out our online application.  We will then contact you by phone with more information, dates for upcoming orientation classes and litter placements.  Once again, thank you for your interest in Geschenk Von Gott German Shepherds.

Code Of Ethics
And Gift Pup Program

Coming from a family in the Midwest that had many self employed members, good business ethics and community involvement were a priority and still are today.  At G.V.G.G.S. we strive to provide you with the best results of our hard  and committed work for the GSD Breed.

GIFT PUP PROGRAM

As a part of giving back to the community, we incorporate our gift pup program.  Out of every litter regardless of the litter size, we place one pup at no charge or we take the funds from one pup sale and donate that amount to a charitable canine cause/vet bill or ministry need in our community.

Local Vets are familiar with our program and refer families to us who have had a GSD or canine tragedy outside of their control and have lost their companion.  There are no hidden strings and pup placement for the families are done with the same quality and integrity as with our paying clients.

Giving back to the community should be part of every conscientious breeders program.  Pleasing and serving the client is rapidly becoming a lost art.  We will work hard to support you with help, information and our open door policy during the entire life of your dog.
